Welcome to the February issue of the American EHS / American CPR monthly Affiliate Instructor Newsletter!

February 2004

Why Sign In? What does a "Sign in Roster" mean to you as an Instructor?
Whether you are teaching your own classes, or subcontracting to American EHS / American CPR for corporate trainings, a sign in roster is PROOF of student attendance... even if you are teaching your own independently scheduled trainings, be sure to mail or fax a copy in to American EHS / American CPR so we can add them to your Instructor file, and enter them in our database...this way, when students call in to re-certify, or to schedule a new group training, we can send the business back to you! (Also, we can verify certification for employers and others who may need to check authenticity of a students certification card.)
When students "sign in" follow these simple rules for all classes:

  • The "Sign in Roster" clearly states:
"Please PRINT your name CLEARLY below"
as well as "* Illegible names may not receive certifications, or may have incorrect spelling. There is a $8 charge per student for re-issuing certification cards.  Please PRINT CLEARLY as you wish to see your name spelled."
~ Make sure the students follow these directions for your sake, and for ours!
  • DO NOT sign the students in yourself, and DO NOT allow the class contact or coordinator to clearly print all the names... it is essential that each students write their own name... this shows that they were actually in attendance.
  • Take roll at the end of class, using the sign in sheet... Why? Two  reasons;
  1. It gives you a chance to read over all the names for legibility (let's face it, not everybody's CLEAR PRINTING can be easily deciphered!) and
  2. It allows you to make sure the students have stayed around for the entire class...you wouldn't want to issue a certification card to someone who left half way through your class!

Sign in rosters are an asset to you, as an Instructor. It may seem like an insignificant item, when you compare this flimsy sheet of paper to your Instructor Manuals, Videos, Students Handouts, etc., but it is your most reliable and basic form of record keeping ~ Use it!

American EHS / American CPR Insurance program with National Professional Group, through Lloyds of London
American EHS / American CPR launched it's Affiliate Instructor Insurance program last December. We have received overwhelming response from American EHS / American CPR Affiliates! If you have tried to get insurance in the past, you know how difficult it can be for Individual Safety Instructors and small groups to obtain affordable liability insurance...we've had the same problem for years. American EHS / American CPR has arranged special "Instructor Only" insurance that makes it possible to protect yourself from liability at an affordable price. Click here to view the program online!
(All Instructor's who wish to receive subcontract training from American EHS / American CPR MUST have liability insurance)

Obtain an online professional liability coverage quote for cpr training activities.

Affiliate Links still Booming...
Affiliate CPR training links were added to the  link pages at some of our web sites, and American EHS / American CPR Affiliates received over 1000 leads in the first two months! ... think about this....1000 leads, assume each is just one person (not, say, a couple or a small company of 4 individuals), assume they want just CPR (not, say, a CPR/First Aid/AED combo), assume that the class fee for just CPR is only $20 (Well below the going rate in most areas)... That is $20,000.00 in free business sent out to American EHS / American CPR Affiliates in under 8 weeks ~ independent of individual marketing efforts or subcontracting work! This link system will propagate throughout our network of 40+ safety websites over the next months ~ As well as the many Instructor websites now beginning to link in. You should be receiving safety training requests via email from these pages, if you are not, check your link at: www.americancpr.com/CPRLinks.html and make sure you have completed the steps and returned your Link Application form;  Click here for the form! Check last Month's Newsletter for Comments from Instructors, and Suggestions for making the most of your email leads:

American EHS / American CPR AED Grant Program...How much have you earned?
American EHS / American CPR announced its AED grant program last September...designed initially for Public Entities, this corporate sponsored Grant program is providing funds for purchasing AED's and equipment for Private companies as well...just last month 111 AED's were applied for, and every single applicant received approval for this grant assistance...it is an easy one page application, and best of all, American EHS / American CPR Affiliate Instructors get $100 commission each time they submit an application which is approved! ~ Did you get your share of this $11,100.00? (Not to mention the future training opportunity this creates?) Click here to view program

American EHS / American CPR Full color, expanded Student & Instructor Materials ~ OOPS WE BLEW IT!
We Missed our deadline... the Graphics for the new price list / order form were not ready in time for this Newsletter, so we are holding over the old pricing until March 1, 2004, when you will all receive the new pricing via email...here is last Month's info about the change...
In October, American EHS / American CPR Released our New, expanded full color Student Training Materials, teaching the ABCD's of CPR at Bystander and Professional CPR levels. Many of you have seen the new materials, and we have received OUTSTANDING feedback from those of you who have used the new materials. As part of our promotion of the new materials, as well as our commitment to introduce the essential principals of Early Defibrillation to the population, we have held the prices on these materials down at 1998 pricing so you could all stock up. As of
2/15/04 3/1/04, there will be a slight increase in price on these materials, so we encourage all American EHS / American CPR Affiliate Instructors and Training Centers to Stock up now. You may still use the 2003 order form which has the same prices we have offered since 1998 until February 15th (now March 1st), when the new prices take effect. (Download the old order form here) You will receive the new, full color materials, but at the old pricing. ***Note, even our slightly higher 2004 pricing for the expanded, full color materials is still 20% - 75% below any other national training group!
